Why do I need a website?

Why do I need a website

The internet is an ever growing, ever expanding thing. As it grows, we grow with it. Today we are more informed than ever, we have all the information we could ever need in the palm of our hands. We follow our favourite stores on Instagram and we check in at our favourite restaurants on Facebook. Today, the information we want is mostly on the internet. Some businesses are still yet to embrace the Internets platform; they are still wondering why they need a website.

Websites earn you credibility:

Customers are more likely to use your business if your website contains the information they need. Consumers today shop for the best price and best quality product or service. If you do not have a website, the customer is likely to go to the competitor who does. Gone are the days where people make phone calls or drop in store for quotes. Customers are online now, they want a response now as hassle free as possible.

An example; your friend Becky checks in at a restaurant and posts a photo of her meal on Facebook. You think it looks nice, and would love to know what the rest of their menu is like. You click on their account to find they do not have a website. At the same time another friend, Jackie, checks in at a different restaurant. This restaurant does have a website link and the entire menu is online, including a photo gallery. Which restaurant would you likely go to?

Websites are Investments Into Your Businesses’ Future:

The up front set up costs are well worth it in the long term. Websites bring in large amounts of business every year, especially to local businesses. Did you know that 72% of consumers performing a locally based search, i.e. Baby clothing stores near me, will visit a store that is within 8km of their location. With a website you will rank very well in local searches.

A website runs 24/7

When you go home at the end of your working day, your website will stay up and running all night, providing curious customers with the information they are seeking. Not everyone has the time during a working day to visit a bricks and mortar store to find out details on a product or service. This means you will not be answering phone calls or emails into the night. The website has the information the customer needs, including a contact form to leave a message.

Improved Customer Service

A frequently asked question (FAQ) page on a website will save hours of your time answering the same questions. This is a great page for customers to visit to get answers to questions they may have. Customers can also leave reviews on your website which is excellent for business. 80-90% of shoppers will read reviews before buying your products or using your service.
