  • It’s not often that you get the opportunity to make a significant contribution to your local community, but getting to build the new local council website ‘Love Central Coast’ for this bunch of Coasties, was a big deal.

Love Central Coast is an initiative powered on by the Central Coast Council, positioned to invest, celebrate and spur on the cultural section of the Central Coast. The website was to act as a virtual HQ for this initiative, where residents and visitors to the Central Coast can see this community at its best and engage with it.

  • Cameron got to work mapping out all the elements of this site that need to be supported in this shiny new site. It’s covering multiple user journeys, from full itineraries, news alerts, blog content, interviews, promoting upcoming events, shopping guides, staying guides, eating guides – it goes on! Everything you’re thinking when you think of Tourism. But this is not a door that opens one way – the site needs to be easily managed and updated regularly by the Central Coast IT department as well.

This Content Management Hierarchy was super important to lock in before Cameron took the next step in Design and Build otherwise, we could have ended up with a site that only worked well on launch and would become a befuddled mess as time and updates rolled on.

  • Design and Build
  • With functionality needs well understood, Cameron then went on to apply the modern and organic style that was developed and led by Matilda Wilson Creative – mixing illustrative and photographic elements (brought in by Headland Brands) seamlessly for something that is a unique but true representation of what life is like on the Central Coast! Interpreting Matilda’s branding to a living, breathing site was a delicate dance. A regular, cookie-cutter site, with no custom elements, is easy to design when you know there will be regular updates by other departments, but Matilda’s vision and our passion for this initiative called for complexity and custom code solutions. So, Cameron got to work.

  • The Final Product
  • The Love Central Coast website is the ideal marriage of functionality and beautiful responsive design – all working towards a well-deserved investment in tourism and culture for the Central Coast NSW. It is one of our proudest moments to recall – that we helped give our region and community the platform they deserve!
